The Internet's World Ranking
Rules
Last updated - 21 August 2026
BACK YOUR COUNTRY is a public, global competition between countries. It is an independent internet experiment, not affiliated with any government or international organization.
The ranking
- Every confirmed contribution adds its amount to the chosen country's total.
- Countries are ordered by total confirmed backing, highest first.
- Countries with no confirmed backing hold no public position.
- Ties: if two countries hold the same total, the country that reached that total first stays ahead. As a final technical fallback, ISO country code order applies.
- Positions can change at any time. No position duration is guaranteed.
The Leading Backer
- The largest single confirmed contribution to a country becomes its Leading Backer. Contributions are not combined per person or per domain.
- Ties between contributions of the same amount are resolved in favor of the earlier confirmed contribution.
- The Leading Backer may display a sponsored link beside the country's name. Links are clearly marked as sponsored and open through a tracked redirect.
- Click counts are best-effort totals of link visits. They are not unique visitors and no traffic level is guaranteed.
- Links may be reviewed, withheld or removed under the Acceptable Use Policy.
What a contribution is
- Contributions purchase digital visibility and participation in the ranking. Nothing else.
- They are not political donations and do not fund any government or party.
- They confer no ownership, voting rights, or financial returns of any kind.
- No clicks, traffic, conversions or commercial outcome is guaranteed.
Corrections
Rankings may be corrected after refunds, payment disputes, fraud or technical errors. When a confirmed contribution is reversed, its effect on the ranking is reversed exactly once and a correction notice may be published.
