Privacy Policy

Last updated - 21 August 2026

This policy explains what data backyourcountry.com processes and why. We practice data minimization: the Service works without accounts, without profiles and without non-essential tracking. This policy may be updated as the Service grows.

Data controller

Alvaro Marin Abril - Calle Federico Garcia Lorca 5, 02001 Albacete, Spain - singularityingenieria@gmail.com

What we process

  • Contribution data: country backed, amount, timestamp, and — only if you choose to provide them — a website address and a display name. These are shown publicly as part of the ranking when applicable.
  • Payment data: processed entirely by Stripe, Inc. as an independent payment processor. We receive payment status, amount and technical identifiers; we never receive or store full card numbers.
  • Technical logs: minimal server logs (status codes, coarse IP-derived country used only to preselect your country in the form, user agent for abuse and bot filtering). Logs are not used for advertising.
  • Click counts: sponsored-link visits are counted in aggregate. We do not build visitor profiles.
  • Traffic counter: our own cookie-less counter stores a salted daily hash of IP and browser (never the raw address) to count unique visitors per day. Hashes cannot be linked across days. Aggregates are published at /stats.

What we do not do

  • No user accounts and no passwords.
  • No non-essential cookies — which is why you see no cookie banner.
  • No third-party advertising or analytics scripts by default.
  • No sale of personal data.

Legal bases and retention

Contribution records are retained as part of the financial ledger for as long as required by accounting and tax law (six years under Spanish commercial law). Technical logs are retained briefly for security. Public ranking entries persist as part of the historical record; display names and links can be removed on request.

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Contact singularityingenieria@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Spain, the AEPD — aepd.es).
